U-GLOS Station 45021 was first deployed in 2006 by the University of Michigan's Ocean Engineering Laboratory (OEL) in partnership with Michigan Sea Grant, Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, Northwestern College Water Studies Institute, The Great Lakes Maritime Academy and Team Elmer's.
