Station 45029

The buoy was funded by the Coastal Storms Program, which is a nationwide effort led by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to make communities safer by reducing the loss of life and negative impacts caused by coastal storms. This buoy will be used directly by the NOAA National Weather Service office in Grand Rapids to better predict wind and wave conditions. The thermistor string was funded by contributions from the Grand Haven Steelheaders, Grand Haven Charter Boat Association, and the Saugatuck Area Charter Boat Association.
